The MaxShine Low Profile Rubber Backed Foam Finishing Pad (Red) provides a professional high-gloss finish with long-throw DA polishers.
- Rubber backing transfers more thrust from your DA polisher to the paint compared to normal foam pads, saving time and materials
- Less vibration compared to standard pads
- Low-profile design provides better clearance in tight areas
Step-by-Step Pad Maintenance & Longevity Protocol
To prevent compound caking, panel marring, and premature pad destruction, follow our Lake Forest shop maintenance system:
-
The Initial Pad Prime: When launching a fresh foam pad, apply 4 to 5 drops of compound across the face, then spread it evenly with your finger or machine on low speed. This primes the open cells, preventing dry friction scouring.
-
Blow Out After Every Section: Foam cells compress as they collect spent clear coat residue and dried paint compound. Blow out the pad face using compressed air or an ergonomic pad brush after every single 2ft by 2ft section. Never run a packed, heavy pad, as it will skip and stop rotating.
-
The Post-Shop Deep Clean: Immediately after your detail is complete, submerge dirty pads in warm water mixed with a dedicated microfiber and pad cleaner. Agitate the foam gently to release trapped polish oils.
-
Zero-Heat Centrifugal Dry: Spin-dry the clean pads on your machine inside an empty bucket, then place them face down on a wire drying rack out of direct sunlight. Never dry pads using high heat or commercial clothes dryers, as this completely melts the structural foam cell bonds.
